Following the issuance of the Airworthiness Circular HNMAA.AWC.01 titled “Military Unmanned Aircraft Systems-UAS”, HNMAA held a workshop on “Airworthiness and UAS Operations Management” at the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens on July 19th,2024, with the participation of representatives from Hellenic Ministry of National Defence and Branches of the Hellenic Armed Forces.
During the workshop, the following topics were presented:
• The civil and military European airworthiness regulatory framework for UAS;
• The airworthiness circular HNMAA.AWC.01 and the requirements it sets for the airworthiness of the UAS;
• The operational risk-based methodology used for managing the UAS airworthiness;
• The existing regulatory framework and the procedures followed by the Branches of the Armed Forces regarding UAS operations, maintenance, certification and airworthiness assurance, as well as air traffic management and UAS remote pilots training.
